Piotr Starzyński


Piotr Starzyński (born November 27, 1950, died June 26, 1993 in New York City) is an activist of the democratic opposition in the People's Republic of Poland. Curriculum vitae

He cooperated with the Student Solidarity Committee in Wroclaw and the Workers' Defense Committee. He was the organizer, printer and editor of the Lower Silesian Bulletin. During martial law he was interned between 13 December 1981 and 29 May 1982. He was also a co-creator of the New Culture Movement. According to one version is considered the originator of the name Orange Alternative.

December 8, 2007 was posthumously awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
