The Last Song

The Last Song - This is the second single from The One Elton John's 1992 album. The song is a tribute to the pianist father who died in the same year. There are also rumors that it was written to honor Ryan White's 18-year old AIDS victim. Elton was emotionally involved with the boy, and at one of his concerts in Barcelona in 1992 he even admitted that it was a song about AIDS.

The song was also used as a musical theme closing a short film showing the montage of famous people who fell victim to AIDS and the 1993 film And the Band Played On.
