Cracow land

Terra Cracoviensis (Terra Cracoviensis) - a territorial unit of the medieval Polish state, since 1138 the main part of the senior district (with the time the Duchy of Kraków). After 1314 Cracow land was transformed into the Cracow province. John Długosz in his work from 1464 to 1480, presented that Cracow's land was the main part of the Kingdom of Poland and a metropolis in relation to other lands.

The coat of Cracovian land was an eagle in the crown turned heraldically to the left. History

In 1138 the land of Cracow entered the district of the senior. From 1173 it belonged to senior Mieszko III Old. As a result of the revolt against him in the years 1177-1191 Kraków was ruled by the Kazimierz II Righteous.

After 1314 Cracow was transformed into Cracow.
