Ferdinand of Württemberg-Neuenstadt


Ferdinand Wilhelm Wirtemberski (born 12 September 1659 Neuenstadt - died 7 June 1701 Sluis) - Prince of Württemberg.

The son of Prince Frederick II and Clare Augusty von Braunschweig.

Just like Friedrich August Württemberg-Neuenstadt's brother, he participated in the Dutch war as a captain in the regency of the Princes of Braunschweig-Lüneburg. He then took part in the Swedish-Danish war on the Danish side.

During the Battle of Vienna he was under the command of Charles V.

In 1688 he again joined the Danish army and along with 7,000 soldiers set out for Great Britain where he fought on the side of William III against James II. He participated in the Battle of Boyne where his brother Karol also fought.

Ferdinand returned to the continent and again served in the Danish army, this time during the nine-year war he fought at the Battle of Neerwinden. After the war ended in 1697, Ferdynd served in the army of King August II.

In 1701 he ended his military career and went to Sluis, where he was governor, there he also died without leaving any successor. Authoritative control (person):
