John Oryszowski
Oryzowski Jan (ukr .: Оришевський Ян) (born around 1535 - died about 1608) - Cossack hetman, from 1580 to 1591 belonged to elders, one of the organizers of the Cossack register. He came from a polonized Ukrainian nobility.
In 1576, he was the assistant of Prince Michal Wiśniowiecki, Prince of Poland (Вишневецький Михайло), commanding a register of Cossacks. From 1580 he supported the Stefan Batory Army in the fighting against the Moscow State, and in 1585 organized an attack on the Crimean Khanate.
In 1587 he was a representative of the invited army for the Electoral Diet of the Commonwealth, who made the election of Zygmunt III Vasa. In 1600 he acted as the negotiator between the Polish authorities and the Cossacks regarding the Cossack coalition in the expedition to Moldova.
He died most likely in the town of Hajsyn, in the Winnipeg oblast. Bibliography
