Josef Jarolin
Josef Jarolin (born March 6, 1904, died 28 May 1946) is a Nazi criminal, high ranking SS officer in the Dachau concentration camp and SS-Obersturmführer.
In the years 1940-1942 Jarolin was the head of the camp and deputy commander (Schutzhaftlagerführer) in the Dachau camp. He then held the same function until 1943 in the Dachau-Allach sub-camp. He was known for his atrocities against prisoners, murder and other acts of sadism (including torturing prisoners with a special whip).
During the Dachau crew process before the American Military Tribunal Josef Jarolin was one of the main accused. In view of the indisputable evidence of the crime, he was sentenced to death by hanging. Judgment was made at the Landsberg Prison in May 1946. Bibliography
