Medical Assistance for Academic Youth

Medical Support for Academic Youth, PaLMA - was founded in September 1945 in Lodz as a medical aid institution for university students. Similar institutions were organized in postwar Poland in many academic centers. PaLMA continued the pre-war sections of Bratnia Pomocy's health.

The organization was the precursor of the Health Care Teams of the Academic Health Service in other student centers in Poland. Hence, the name PaLMA often appears in organizations for health care in higher education institutions in Poland.

PaLMA centers were dissolved around 1951, and in their place were the Preventive and Prophylaxis Groups for Students. Bibliography
