John Freeman Mackie


John Freeman Mackie (born October 1, 1835, June 18, 1910) is an American soldier.

For the courage shown on May 15, 1862, during the Battle of Drewry's Bluff, he was awarded the Medal of Honor on July 10, 1863. In the rank of Corporal Mackie on board the USS "Galena" boldly opened the fire from the musket and bravely replaced the firefighters of his fallen and injured comrades.
