Wake up

Aglaophyton major (Aglaophyton major) - one of the oldest telomere plants, belonging to the Rhinophytes (originally classified as Rhynia). Probably overgrown lakes, rivers or early Devonian marshes (praga).

Sporophyte had rhizomes with grasshoppers. From the rhizomes, dendritic branches of spiny leafless shoots emerged, reaching up to 30-60 cm in height, ending at quite large, spindly spindles. Spores are described under the separate name Retusotriletes. Male gametophyta aglaofiton is probably the later species of Lyonophyton rhyniensis Remy et Remy, 1980. Bibliography
