Yeísmo
Yeísmo - a phonetic process that takes place in a part of the Latin American region of the United States. Ll traditionally expressed the voice ʎ (palatal lateral). This sound has disappeared in most areas of America except bilingual areas where it is spoken in Quechua or in other Native American languages that have this phoneme in their phonetics. It is also declining in Spain, but it is also similar - it does not refer to the bilingual areas of the Catalan language or other languages in which it is present. In most areas, the phoneme is similar to j. This phenomenon is called yeísmo.
