Field D (also Zone D) - in the snooker area of ​​the table, from which the player starts the game by breaking a triangle of 15 red balls. Field D is a semicircle written in the base with a center at the midpoint of the base line with a radius of 292 mm.

Zone D is often chosen by snooker players as a place to play a white ball as a stand-off. If you hit a red ball after a "shot to nothing" strike, the white ball will return to the base zone and you can gently slide it into the snooker position for one of the colored balls.

Also, if a player plays a foul on a white ball, the opponent is allowed to play from anywhere in the D field.
