Target selection


Targeted selection (arbitrary selection) - Non-random selection of a sample of respondents for social research, based on their subjective selection by the researcher, but the goal is usually to create a sample close to the representative. Such selection may be independent or may be made by referring to an expert.

It is used inter alia. in the following cases:

assuming that the researcher has adequate knowledge of the study population.

The risk of representativeness is undefined, even though this sample selection is used even in pre-election polls. Bibliography
