The Scythian Platform
Scythian Platform - Formerly a large geological structural unit of Europe, adjacent to the south to the East European platform, stretching from the lower Danube to the east, with a belt of 300 to 800 km wide.
Its foundation is made up of several blocks of different ages and genes: from the post-Croatian cratonis, through the vicarious, and even the early centimeters.
Within the platform there are several units: the Dobrudzian massif, the Misha plate, the Moldian plate and the Scythian plate.
The existence of the Scythian Platform was taken for granted by the end of the twentieth century. Recent analyzes indicate, however, that such an entity does not exist, and what is considered a Scythian platform is only the southeastern edge of the Eastern European platform covered with folding structures and slides towards its interior. This view is particularly evident in the fact that despite the many years of research, the boundary between these platforms has not been established. Bibliography
