Adamantea

Adamantea (Latin Adamanteia or Adamanthea) - in Greek mythology a nymph, according to some sources Okeanida, according to others - the daughter of King Crete, Melisseus. She assisted Rei to hide in Crete a little Zeus from the wrath of Cronus, and then took care of raising the child, feeding them with goat milk. Because Kronos was the ruler of heaven, sea, and land, Adamantea hid a child from him, hanging his golden cradle in the tree (so it was not on earth, in the sky or on the sea). Most mitogical sources identify Adamante with Amalie. Bibliography
