Hufvudstadsbladet


Hufvudstadsbladet - a journal published in Finnish in Swedish. The name literally means capital newspaper. With 51,000 copies, it is the largest Swedish-language periodical published in Finland. History

The newspaper was founded in 1864 by August Schauman, and its first issue appeared on December 5 of the same year. In the nineteenth century it was the largest newspaper in Finland.

In 2004, the font changed format to tabloid. In the same year it was in tenth place in Finland in terms of circulation and first place among the Swedish-language publications.
