Narszachi
Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Jafar an-Narshachi (899-959) - Medieval historian of Central Asia. Born in the Nara settlement, 30 km north of Bukhara.
In the years 943-944 (according to other data 948-949) he wrote in Arabic "History of the Bukhara". In 1128, Abu Nasr Ahmad ibn Muhammedad al Kubawi translated the chronicle of Narseki into Persian, shortened it and brought it to modern times. Half a century later, Muhammad ibn Zufar cut short his work, and an anonymous author in the thirteenth century added facts to 1220. "The history of Bukhari" survived only in this editorial. It is a valuable source for the history and topography of the Bukhara and the oasis on the Zarafsan River in the 7th-12th centuries. Particularly interesting is the history of the Arab conquest of Central Asia, the uprisings of Abruja and Mukhanna, the displacement of zoroastrianism, Buddhism and Christianity. Bibliography
