Edmund Wissmann
Edmund Wissmann (born 1918, died?) - captain in the concentration camp Flossenbürg and war criminal.
A prisoner in the Flossenbürg camp complex from April 5, 1940. Initially, by the end of March 1943, he was staying in the main camp. Then Wissmann was transferred to the Würzburg sub-camp, where he returned to the main camp in October 1943. From December 27, 1944 to April 16, 1945, he served as captain in the administration of the Altenheimer sub-camp. He slaughtered many prisoners, many mutilating and others leading to the loss of his senses. Wissmann returned briefly to Flossenbürg and took part as a security guard in the evacuation of this camp. He shot at least a few prisoners.
In a trial that took place on November 5-12, 1947, before the American Military Tribunal in Dachau, Wissmann was convicted along with two other crew members of the death camp. But all the death sentences are converted into life in the act of grace. Bibliography
