Hans Friedrich Gadow
Hans Friedrich Gadow (born March 8, 1855 in Old Cracow, May 26, 1928 in Cambridge) is a German-British zoologist and ornithologist.
After studying in Berlin, Jena and Heidelberg, where he made his doctorate, Gadow went to London. There he worked on bird preparation at the British Museum, which later separated the Museum of Natural History in London. In 1884, he became the curator of the Hugh Edwin Strickland Bird Collection (6000 specimens) located at the University of Cambridge and taught vertebrate morphology.
He became a British citizen and became a member of the British Ornithologists' Union as well as the Royal Society.
The reptile was associated with anatomy, morphology, and vertebrate classification. His bird classification, which was developed in collaboration with Max Fürbinger, contributed to the development of modern bird classification.
