Sjögren-Larsson's team
Sjögren-Larsson syndrome (Ruda syndrome, Sjögren-Larsson syndrome, Rud's syndrome) - a rare genetic disease of the fish scales caused by a mutation in the ALDH3A2 gene encoding the fatty acid dehydrogenase gene. It was described by Karl Sjögren and Tage Larsson. Epidemiology
Sjögren and Larsson's syndrome is a rare disease, but in Sweden, in a 1981 study, 58 patients from 41 families were found in 45 countries in a limited area in the north of the country (Västerbotten); the incidence of disease is 8.3: 100,000 and heterozygous for the disease gene is 2% of the population.
