State Technical Vocational Courses


Staatliche Technische Fachkurse Lemberg - a type of higher vocational course, 4 years old, without the right to award higher education diplomas and degrees at the Lviv Polytechnic during the German occupation from March 1942 to May. 1944.

The Ukrainians were first and foremost given their privileged position towards the Poles during the German occupation. They must have been of Aryan origin, are at least 18 years old, min. 4 classes of the Polish gymnasium or 3 classes of the evening school and one year of professional practice or 8 classes of the secondary school of the Soviet type. Older generations consisted largely of Poles continuing their earlier studies. Attended courses:

The graduates of the courses were among others: Lecturers

The course manager was Dr Teodor Bödefeldt, professor of electrical engineering at the Munich University of Technology. He engaged in the work of all professors, lecturers, assistants and administrative staff of the Lviv Polytechnic. Formally, the language of the lecture was German, but it was definitely Polish.

The academic staff of the courses were mostly active in the underground movement, also conducting secret teaching according to pre-war programs, which made it easier for graduates to accept exams or diplomas after 1945 in the new Polish borders. Bibliography
