Static Icon

Static Icon is a synthpop team. They started in Adelaide, Australia as a three-part group called "Das Concept". In their first incarnation they covered the Depeche Mode. Gradually they introduced more and more new material into their own project. To fully complete the translation of the group, they changed the name to Static Icon and rejected all except one or two covers of Depeche Mode in their collection.

Through their collaboration with the Melbourne bands, they became part of the Australian industrial music scene, and then sang with EBM Machinery Records in Berlin, Germany, with two albums from 1995's Sin Machine. Their first album was recorded in Adelaide, but there were some problems surrounding the theft of the cassettes. Shortly afterwards they went to Berlin, where most of the album was lost. Their second and most famous Slave album was produced by Marc Heal and published in 1997.
