Paweł Dylong
Pawel Dylong (born January 11, 1897 in Świętochłowice, died February 7, 1971 in Świętochłowice) - politician, communist activist.
He was born into a working-class family. In the years 1916-1918 he served in the German army, and after his return from the war he hired Florian. Since 1918 he belonged to the Spartacus Association, and in 1919 he joined the ranks of the Communist Party of Germany, to which he belonged until the outbreak of the III Silesian insurrection.
Since 1923 he was a member of KPP. When Wladyslaw Gomułka was arrested in 1936, Dylong and his wife were also detained for cooperating with him. During the occupation he worked in Zgoda Steel Works and did not pursue political activities.
After the Second World War he joined the PPR. In 1950 he was excluded from the PZPR for his cooperation with Gomułka. Party rights were restored in 1956.
For his activities he was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. Bibliography
