Schober's Symbology
Schober's sign - a test to assess the extent of bending in the lumbar spine. The examiner marks the position of two points in the standing position:
Then the patient makes a forward slant. In this position, the investigator again measures the distance between the points that were previously marked. With proper movement, this distance should be increased by 4.5 cm.
Symptoms were described by German physician Paul Schober (1865-1943) in 1937.
