Wladyslaw Nehring. Władysław Nehring (born October 23, 1830 in Kłecko, died January 20, 1909 in Wrocław) is a Polish linguist and historian, researcher of Old Slavic language, author of scientific and popular sciences works in the field of Slavic history and grammar of Slavic languages. Graduated from the Maria Magdalene High School in Poznań. In 1850, thanks to a scholarship from the Society for Scientific Assistance. Mr Marcinkowski graduated from the University of Wroclaw, where he received his doctorate in 1856. After passing the same exam year, he worked as a junior high school teacher. After obtaining the title in 1867, he became a professor of the Department of Languages and Literature at the University of Wroclaw. He was a lecturer in Slavic literature, comparative grammar and Old Polish Slavic grammar.
Particular attention was paid to the Slavonic mythology and to the folk culture associated with it, he was the author of a Slavic seminar popular with Polish students.
In the years 1893-1894 he was rector of Wroclaw University. He was also a member of the Academy of Arts in Cracow, the Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg and Prague, and an honorary member of the Society of Friends of Science in Poznań. He was a member of the Polish Industrial Association in Poznań in 1860.
He died in Wroclaw in 1909 and was buried at Osobowicki Cemetery.
In 2003, at the Collegium Europaeum Gnesnense, David Jung set up the Philharmonic Literary and Philosophical Section. Wladyslaw E. Nehring, in Kłecko, was founded. prof. Wladyslaw Nehring.
