He grew up in a pharmacy family and graduated from the Kremenetsky Lyceum. In 1937 he began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the prof. Tadeusz Pruszkowski. At the same time he also completed the Officer School of Communications in Zegrze and as a cadet he participated in the September 1939 campaign. He was taken to the Soviet captivity and transferred to Germany.

In 1945 he undertook further studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the prof. John Cybis and prof. Wojciech Jastrzębowski, where he becomes assistant and adjunct at the Department of Interior Architecture. Since 1949 he has been teaching art and he was an assistant director at the State School of Fine Arts. Wojciech Gerson in Warsaw.

In addition to painting, he also worked on metalwork, modeling, bookbinding, artistic jewelery, preservation and reconstruction of old furniture and sculpture. His works are mainly watercolors, oil paintings, graphics, sketches and drawings, where he is fascinated by the color. Also author of a series of work on military history.

He was buried in the Evangelical-Augsburg cemetery in Warsaw.
