Zdzisław Nitka

Zdzislaw Nitka (born 1962 in Oborniki Śląskie) - Polish painter-expressionist.

Curriculum vitae

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (now the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław), where he is currently lecturing. In 1987 he earned his diploma in painting at the prof. Joseph Hala. He is directly inspired by German expressionism in the first twenty years of the twentieth century, and also interested in primitive art, especially in Africa. As he himself described, a very influential influence on his later inspirations was the exhibition of German expressionists, which he viewed in Wroclaw, still a student of high school. With premeditation retains the attitude of the outsider, his work shows a distance to the gains of civilization. In many paintings, dialogue takes place with the works of other artists who are either explicitly present in compositions (such as masterpieces in the woods) or serve as formal inspirations.
