August Aquarius
August Paul von Wassermann (born February 21, 1866 in Bamberg, March 16, 1925 in Berlin) is a German physiologist, discoverer of the name given to him.
He was the second son of Angelo Wassermann and Dora of Bauer's house. He attended Bamberg Gymnasium, then studied medicine at the University of Friedrich and Alexander in Erlangen, the University of Vienna, the University of Ludwik and Maximilian in Munich and the University of Emperor Wilhelm in Strasburg, where he received his doctorate in medicine in 1888. Since 1898 he was a professor at the Institute of Infectious Diseases in Berlin. In 1913 he became the director of the experimental therapy department at the Society for the Advancement of Science.
