Izabella Lebenstein
Maria Izabella from the Blessed Sacrament (born April 3, 1838 in Gąsewa, died August 17, 1918 in Przasnysz) - Capuchin, long-time superior of the monastery in Przasnysz.
The daughter of Vincent and Teresa of Cameroon. In 1856, she joined the newly formed Feliks' congregation. She was one of the first companions of Bl. Maria Angeli Truszkowska. In 1860, Izabella's mother was elected to the newly formed congregation at the home of the congregation at ul. Daniłowiczowska in Warsaw. From the casket of the felicitants in December 1864, she was with the Felician clergy in Łowicz in the Bernardine monastery.
In 1866, after the departure of the founder and general superior of the town of Angela Truszkowska to Cracow, Sr. Izabella was elected in Łowicz to the superior of the clerical sisters. The function of the superiors was until the death of 52 years. Father Honorat Kozminski personally visited Felician clerics in the Łowicz monastery and wrote for them the constitutions according to which they lived as the first Polish community of Capuchins.
In 1871, as a result of efforts to separate the monastery, the sisters received an order to move to Przasnysz to the Bernardine Convent, after receiving the latter in the 1871 cassation decree. However, they could not accept new candidates. Together with the six sisters of the Przasnysz community, Izabella received a tolerance decree in 1905. As a result of further efforts, the monastery received permission from the Tsar Nicholas II to accept four candidates. S. Izabella still had a regular novitiate in 1916 - after the Germans entered the city. She died after a ten-day illness in the monastery in Przasnysz. Its mysterious remains lie in the basement of this monastery.
