Józef Szewczyk (Voivode)
Józef Szewczyk (born 1937 in Chastarach) - Polish politician, cooperative activist, former governor of Sieradz.
He completed his studies at the University of Lodz. In the years 1956-1967 he held managerial positions in the Commune Cooperative "Samopomoc Chłopska" in Czastra, then until 1971 was vice president of the board of directors in Wieruszów. From 1972 to 1975 he served as deputy chairman of the county board of the national council and deputy county deputy. From 1976 to 1989 he was a full time employee of the United Peasants' Party as chairman of provincial structures.
From February 22, 1989 to February 20, 1991, he served as Governor of Sieradz. Bibliography
