Louis Schweitzer


Louis Schweitzer (born 1942 in Geneva, Switzerland) - from May 27, 1992 to April 29, 2005 - the head of Renault. He is currently a member of the board of AstraZeneca, the Anglo-Swedish pharmaceutical company, and the non-executive director of BNP Paribas, Electricité de France, Veolia Environnement, Volvo AB and L'Oréal.

He is the son of Pierre-Paul Schweitzer. Kindred with Jean-Paul Sartre- the main philosopher of existentialism. He has a university degree in law, which gave him entry to such elite colleges as the Paris Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and the Ecole Nationale d'Administration.

In 1970 he held a supervisory role in the National Bank of France. In 1986 he joined the Renault group. In the beginning, he was a serial financial officer, and in 1988 he became the director of strategic planning. From May 27, 1992 to April 29, 2005 - Head of Renault.
