Stunnel is a program for tunneling TCP traffic using SSL. It belongs to a family of applications called wrappers. The source code for stunnel is devoid of any cryptographic functions, procedures, and so on. Instead, it uses the external libraries provided by OpenSSL. If an encryption algorithm is removed from the OpenSSL package, stunnel will not be able to use it.

The program is available on many platforms, including almost all Unix, OpenVMS and Microsoft Windows systems.
