Swiatoslav Vakarchuk


Swiatoslav Iwakovich, Yugoslavia (born May 14, 1975 in Mukachevo) is a Ukrainian singer and politician. Honored Artist of Ukraine (2005). Curriculum vitae

He graduated from the Ivan Franko University in Lviv with a degree in physics and economics.

Since 1994 he has been vocalist and pop star of Okean Elza, with whom he recorded over 10 albums.

In 2004 he became involved in Viktor Yushchenko's election campaign, taking part in the Orange Revolution. He later served as adviser to the president. In August 2005 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine. In 2007, from the list of Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense received the mandate of the deputy to the Verkhovna Rada of the 6th term, but from which he resigned in December 2008. In 2015 he became an honorary citizen of the cities of Kiev and Lviv.

He is the son of Ivan Václavuk, a scientist, rector of Ivan Franko University, former minister. Bibliography
