Buka (wezyr Ichanidów)


Buka (Persian Būqā) (? - January 1289) Mongolian commander and vizier Ilchana Argun. Ilchanida Argun, during his first attempt to overthrow his uncle Tokudara, was defeated near the city of Rej in May 1284. He escaped to the east, where he gathered new forces. Buka, former governor of Asia Minor. After Arguna's final victory, he was appointed vizier, with his terms of power being the same as that of the ruler, but he was obliged to act in concert with his old friend and former vassal, Shamsoddin Mohammad Jajajni. There was a dispute between the two, and eventually Buka led to the trial and death of Jujube. Shortly thereafter he was sent on a mission to suppress rebellion in Fars, where Princess Abe Chatun continued to rule as Atabeg. After removing her complaint for him, they began to get from Fars to Ilchana. Buka planned the rebellion, but soon had to flee. He was captured and set up before Argun, and finally with his supporters group lost in January 1289. The troops were allowed to plunder their possessions.
