Helmut Losch (born October 12, 1947 in Barth, died January 10, 2005 in Stralsund), German heavyweight, GDR representative, world champion and Olympic medalist.

He was one of the leading heavyweights in the 1970s. He was the first NRD representative to win a world championship - 1971 in the heavyweight category. Over the course of his career he has won eight World Championships medals (1-5-2) and eight European Championships medals (0-5-3). In the super heavyweight category he won bronze at the 1976 Montreal Olympics; Four years earlier, in Munich, he finished 4th in the heavy category. He was a champion of the GDR many times.

He finished his professional career in 1978. He died of a heart attack.
