Jakobici - English and Scottish advocates of the legitimate claimants to the throne of the Stuart dynasty, descendants of King James I of Scotland (in England, James II). Jacobite banner used during the uprising in 1745.

They organized in Scotland three rebellions against the Hanoverian dynasty; in the years 1715 (with the support of France) and 1718 (very badly organized with the support of the Spanish troops). The last uprising, from 1745-1746, could have ended with the total defeat of the English. The lack of determination led to the defeat of the Scots.

Today, the Britons of England, Scotland and Ireland regard Francis II of the Bavarian Wittelsbach family. Francis II is a descendant of James I by his side. The last Stuart in the men's line was Henry IX and I, who died on July 13, 1807.

The successor of Francis II is his brother, Prince Maximilian Emanuel, after which the throne is to go to his daughter, Zofia, the Duchess of Liechtenstein, and then to her children. Jacob's kings in exile A separate article: Jakobic pretenders to the throne of England and Scotland.
