Museum of the City of Gdynia - the institution was established on January 1, 1983, appointed by the President of the City.

The main aim of the Museum is to document and popularize information about Gdynia's history and modernity, with particular emphasis on the significance of the city-port center during the Second Polish Republic.

The main goal of the facility is to collect, develop and share objects related to the history and the present of the city. The museum collects more than 50,000 objects in the Documentation section of the City History and Art Department.

16 November 2007 President Lech Kaczyński took part in the opening ceremony of the new building of the Museum of the City of Gdynia.

Stanisław Kryński (born 20 June 1912 in Warsaw, died 30 January 1967) is a Polish-American philologist, literary critic and translator of English literature.
