Pilbara - archaic kraton, part of the Australian shield. It was founded about 3.6 billion years ago and is associated with the Kaapvaal kraton in southern Africa - the oldest preserved fragment of the continental crust on Earth. Approx. 3.3 billion years ago these two continents merged to form the super-continent of Walbars.
