Ulrik Celsing


Ulrik Celsing (1731-1805) Ulrik Celsing (born 7 December 1731, died 25 November 1805) is a Swedish diplomat, orientalist and Member of Constantinople. As his brother joined the diplomatic service in 1750. In 1756 became secretary of the embassy in Turkey. In the years 1772-1779 a Swedish MP in the capital of Turkey. He became a specialist in oriental literature - Persian, Turkish, Arabic. He returned to Sweden in 1779. From 1779 to 1782 a member of the Saxon court (in Dresden). In the years 1786-1789 the Swedish court at the Viennese court.

His father was an official and diplomat of Sweden, Gustaf Celsing (1679-1743). Bibliography
