In addition, the document assessed possible threats to Poland's security and defined the tasks that should be undertaken to combat them. The greatest threat was perceived in the inter-coalition conflict between the Warsaw Pact and NATO. The main area of ​​such a clash was to be Central Europe, including Poland. The document was exceptionally defensive, in keeping with the coalition defense doctrine adopted by the Warsaw Pact Political Advisory Committee in Berlin in 1987.

With the adoption of the "Doctrine ...", the work on a new strategic concept has been started in the documents of the "Principles of Polish Security Policy" and "Security Policy and Defense Strategy" adopted by the Defense Committee on 2 November 1992. < p>

Currently, the defense doctrine of Poland and the assumptions of national defense strategies have been included in the "National Security Strategy of the Republic of Poland", which was presented on 22 July 2003.
