Krakow School of Criticism - literary seminar conducted by Professor Kazimierz Wyka at the Faculty of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University in the 50s.

The seminar anticipated the so- Scientific outlook derived from the dominant at that time. Marxist theory of literature. However, Wyka kept his disciples out of the doctrines and simplifications of the new method. They focused on the campaign against "idealism", "formalism" and "psychology" in literary research and in critique, where after the youthful period there was a lot of muddiness hidden under the decorations of a seductive style.

Wykiewicz and his disciples, using Marxist inspiration in literary research, were more inclined towards historical rather than formal approaches to sociology than to psychology. Kazimierz Wyki's method was syncretistic.

The leading representatives of the Krakow school of criticism were Jan Błoński, Ludwik Flaszen, Andrzej Kijowski, Konstanty Puzyna.
