Shadows of the Polish People's Republic - a publicity show broadcast on TVP1 from February to July 2008. The lead and co-author of each episode is Bronislaw Wildstein. The originators of the cycle are Witold Gadowski and Katarzyna Hejke. The authors of the episodes are, among others. Barbara Pajchert, Miłosz Horodyski, Ewa Losinska, Maciej Chłopicki, Maciej Korkuć, Jarosław Szarek, Henryk Głębocki. From June 2008 the program is also broadcast on TVP Historia.

The program is an attempt to explain and understand the times of the Polish People's Republic and, above all, to present unfamiliar facts on the basis of documents from the archives of the Institute of National Remembrance. In each program there are invited guests, often participants of historical events. The facilitator tries to answer the question of how in the various spheres of social life there are still remnants of communist Poland. One of the inspirations for the creation of the cycle was the book The Long Shadow of the Polish People's Republic, ie the decommissioning which was not by Bronislaw Wildstein.
