Deaf articles

Articles Głuchowskie - agreement concluded on 16 March 1669 in Głuchów between the hetman of Ukraine Levantine Demian Mnohohrishny and representatives of Russian Tsar Alexei I Romanov.

Strengthening of the power of the Hetmanate, the policy of the right-bank hetman of Ukraine Petr Doroshenko and the position of the hetman of the Mhohohrishne caused the Russians to withdraw from the Moscow Articles of 1665 and agree to sign a new agreement.

Deaf articles consisted of 27 points, among them leaving the Moscow representatives only in 5 cities (Kiev, Pereyaslav, Chernigov, Nizin, Oster), and there they were not allowed to intervene in the internal affairs of the Hetmanat. The registry was increased to 30,000 Cossacks, and the Hetman had the right to keep a thousand soldiers. Taxes were supposed to raise the Cossacks.

At the same time, the hetman undertook not to establish diplomatic relations with other countries. He also promised to limit the transition of the peasantry to Cossack status. Bibliography, literature
