Fujirō Katsurada


Fujirō Katsurada Fujirō Katsurada (Japanese: 桂 田富士 郎, Katsurada Fujirō, born May 5, 1868 in Daishoji, died 1946) is a Japanese physician. Curriculum vitae

He was born in 1867 as the son of a samurai. He studied at the Ishikawa Prefectural Medical School and received a bachelor's degree in 1887. He continued his studies at the Imperial College of Medicine, Tokyo University. For a few years he was in Germany, a doctorate of medicine received at the University of Freiburg in 1901. In 1902 he received a doctorate in medical science (igaku-hakushi). He became a professor of medicine at the Okayama Medical School in 1903 and remained there until 1914. In the same year he received his doctorate in science (rigaku-hakushi). He was also the director of the Marine Institute in Kobe and director of the Japanese Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
