Ludwig Buddensieg
Ludwig Buddensieg (born December 30, 1884 in Weißenfels, died 1968) is a Nazi criminal, commander of the SS Sentry Battalion in the concentration camp Flossenbürg and SS-Hauptsturmführer.
Born in Weißenfels. Member of the NSDAP (party card number 68046, awarded with the Gold Badge of the Party) and SS (Identification No. 3868). Buddensieg was serving in the Flossenbürg camp from August 30, 1939 to March 31, 1944, initially as a company commander and then as commander of the Sentry Battalion. Responsible for shooting the prisoners who tried to escape or even approached the camp fence. After the war he testified that more than 100 prisoners were shot by him.
In the first trial of Flossenbürg's crew before the American court in Dachau, Buddensieg was sentenced to life imprisonment for his crimes. He was released from prison in Landsberg on 9 February 1951. Bibliography
