White collars

White Collars - a term introduced in American sociology to identify people who do not require physical work. It is often identified with employees in the public sector, public administration employees, but also lawyers, tax advisers, etc. It does not apply to professions and entrepreneurs.

It is also sometimes referred to as the "pink collar", or mental worker (or, in general, not exercising great physical effort) whose profession is not as prestigious as white collar. "Pink" includes, for example, florists, secretaries, etc.

The division of the "white" and "blue collar" societies into the United States dates back to the 1950s, as a result of the disappearance of the farmer class and the disintegration of the three social groups from the late 1930s. -professional: agriculture, industry and services.
