Zeja (satellite)


Zeja (Russian: Зея) - Russian military technological geodetic and navigational satellite; the first launched from the Space Shuttle and the first payload launched by the Start-1 rocket. It was about 6 months old.

Designed by students of the military academy of space-based engineering. A. F. Możajski in St. Petersburg and built by the NPO-PM plant in Żeleznogorsk. He circled the heliosynchronous orbit. He was buried in the Earth's atmosphere on October 25, 1999. Bibliography
