Swabian Adelaide
Adelaide (born 1045 in Goslar, died 11 January 1096 in Quedlinburg) - abbot of monasteries in Bad Gandersheim from 1061 and in Quedlinburg from 1063
Adelaide was the eldest daughter of Emperor Henry III and his second wife Agnes of Poitou. In 1061 she became the successor of her older half sister as a bridegroom in Gandersheim, and two years later in Quedlinburg.
As the abbot she continued the policy of broadcasting in monastic wealth which led to conflicts with canons. In 1070 the fire consumed Quedlinburg Abbey and 6 July 1081 Gandersheim.
Adelaide was buried in Quedlinburg Abbey. In the crypt of the church reminds her of the plates from the time of the consecration of the temple in 1129 Literature
