Bozydar-Kałęczyn
Bożydar-Kałęczyn is the name of the jurydyki Bożydar, established in 1702 partly on the grounds of the earlier village of Kałęczyn, together with the remaining jurydy around Old Warsaw, liquidated at the end of the 18th century. Currently its area is located in the districts of Śródmieście, Wola and Ochota m.st. Warsaw.
Jurydyka was founded in 1702 by J. Szwarcenberg-Czerny and covered the area of the present streets of Książęce, Smolna and Al. Jerusalem. One of the boundaries of the jurydyka was the street Bracka, which received this name in 1770 from the fact that it led to the estate of male orders (brothers of paulów, missionaries and Augustans). The town hall was located at ul. New World 8/10 (hip 1284).
In 1774, the Jewish settlement of Nowa Jerozolima was established in the area of the jury of Augustus Sułkowski, between the present streets of Towarowa and Kaliska in the area of today's Zawisza Square. Because of the prohibition of trading by Jews within Old Warsaw, they were uncomfortable. Old Warsaw's suzerainty sued Sułkowski for the marshals' court, demanding the liquidation of the Jewish settlement. Despite the Jewish protests on January 23, 1776, New Jerusalem ceased to exist, the goods were confiscated, and the houses were destroyed. In spite of its short existence, the name of the settlement is present in the later Jerusalem Horn and Al. Jerusalem.
