Dmitry Golitsyn (1735-1803)


Dmitry Alekseejevich Golitsyn (Russian: Дмитрий Алексеевич Голицын, born 1735, died in 1803 in Braunschweig) is a Russian diplomat from the Duke of Golitsyn. Russian Ambassador to London (1761), Paris (1765) and The Hague (1769). He was briefly the Minister of Government of the Bavarian Elections. Very close friend of Voltaire and quite close friend of Diderot. He was a member of many academic academies in Europe. In Paris, in March 1766, he met the Polish MP Feliks Franciszek Łoyko.

He was an enlightened man and an author of work in the field of economics.
