Edward Leonard Daab
Edward Leonard Daab (born 1873 in Firlejówek near Lublin, died in August 1944 in Warsaw) - Warsaw-based entrepreneur of German origin, optician and co-owner of carpentry, engaged in conspiracy during World War II. He was the son of Frederick Francis Daub and Ludwika (from Uhle's house), evangelicals. He was an optician and at the same time ran a carpentry shop at ul. Skierniewicka 6/8 in Warsaw. He was the brother of Leopold Daab and the cousin Adolf Daaba, the Warsaw industrialist and councilor of Warsaw from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
During World War II, there was a conspiratorial house in the carpentry, where training meetings of members of the Home Army were held and hiding persons, including Warsaw Ghetto escapes, were kept.
During the Warsaw Uprising in August 1944, Edward Leonard Daab was expelled from the factory with his family (with his sister, two brothers, nephews and nieces) and shot dead by the Nazis.
About the carpentry of the Daab family, a story was written by Bohdan Czeszka (1970), who during the occupation was working in this carpentry. The character of this story, named after Edward Daaba, is German Husband and speaks German very freely, and also declares German nationality in the song. Bibliography
